ICCO Reflects Clients' Growing Interest in Asia;
Hosts First ICCO Global Summit in India

July 05, 2006

Five million new mobile-phone connections added each month; 450 new shopping malls being built; A 'consuming class' estimated at 150 million. No wonder that the Economist Newspaper stated, "No big international company can do without an Indian strategy".

And no wonder that the International Communications Consultancy organisation (ICCO) has decided to host its next Global Summit in New Delhi, India from the 5th to 6th October, 2006.

Under the theme, 'Forget Next Practices, Think Next Practices', the ICCO has created a Summit that will explore what new skills and resources PR agencies will require in the future, if they are to take advantage of the new opportunities being created by the shift in influence from West to East, and, more importantly, if they are to remain relevant to their clients.

Primary discussion topics at the Summit will centre around the new services and capabilities that will be required; new ways for attracting and retaining talent; and new methods of collaboration. Other discussion topics will focus on the changing face of India and how to capitalise on the opportunities arising in India and China.

As part of a more pragmatic approach to its Summits, the ICCO has asked its local organising partner, the PRCAI, to host an agency 'matchmaking' session whilst a management consultant has been tasked with capturing all the knowledge created at the Summit and making it available after the event to the delegates' staff.

And in a final break from tradition, the ICCO Global Summit will include presentations on Inner Peace from www.ishafoundation.org Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, whilst Jamling Norgay, the son of Tensing Norgay will describe his fathers' quest to conquer Mount Everest.

Speakers at the Summit include the Indian Minister of Commerce and Government; Yann Risz, COO and founding partner of The Next Practice and Jeff Fuller, principal Advisor at Mercer HR Consulting.

In addition, the CEOs or Chairmen of the worlds' largest PR agencies will also be speaking.

Commenting on the ICCO's decision to host the Summit in India, its president, John Saunders said, "All our clients are developing Asian strategies and the region will have a profound impact on their organisations, not just as a significant marketplace for their products and services but for the changes it is creating to their organisational structure and culture.

We thought it imperative that we mirror that thinking and give our members an opportunity to see for themselves just how exciting the region is. We believe that this Summit will be the most visionary that we have staged".
